From September 9 to 18, 2024, a team of 16 people on behalf of the BETHUNE BAI QIUEN CANADIAN ALLIANCE traveled far afield to China and carried out a trip to Qinghai province to repeat the Bethune’s path. The 85th anniversary of Dr. Bethune’s death was commemorated through medical seminars, hospital clinics, training the doctors, professional lectures, and donating medical equipment to the remote local hospitals, also donations of school supplies made to local elementary schools.
During the trip team members had to overcome the high elevation, harsh weather, and difficult road conditions. In hospitals of the city of Tongren and the county of Xunhua, Dr. Gu, Dr. Dukas, Dr. Shaw and other members of the Buthune Canadian Alliance had seen hundreds of patients, trained many local doctors. The donations of medical equipment and urgently needed medical supplies have been made to the Duowa township hospital in Tongren City, and the Wendu Center Hospital in Xunhua County. The team also transfers their love to the Tibetan students in the remote area, Qume Primary School in Tong Ren City, donating uniforms and school supplies.
Every franchisee of Big Feet Health Group has made donations to this meaningful trip, and three representatives of the group: Shirley Shaw, Jack Wei and Jenny Huang have participated in the trip as the members of Bethune Canadian Alliance.
